Night drone attack on Dnipro: four injured, including two 8-year-old children
A drone hit a nine-storey block late on 10 October, blowing out hundreds of windows; another strike at dawn damaged a second building. An 11-year-old boy was also killed in the Nikopol district.

A hit on a nine-storey building
At around 23:00 on 10 October Russian forces attacked one of Dnipro’s districts. According to Suspilne Dnipro, the strike damaged a residential building at the level of the 8th–9th floors — its structure, balconies and glazing. The building was cut off from utilities and there was a gas leak. The blast wave also hit neighbouring buildings, where several hundred windows were blown out.
Mayor Borys Filatov initially reported three injured. Later the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, said four people were hurt, including two eight-year-old children. One girl was hospitalised in a condition doctors describe as moderate. Three others — an eight-year-old girl, a 29-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man — are being treated as outpatients.
Olena, who lives in the neighbouring entrance, told Suspilne the explosion was very loud, windows in her flat were damaged and the drone’s warhead fell right under her windows.
More strikes overnight and at dawn
The attack did not end with one hit. According to Hanzha, Dnipro was struck by drones several times during the night. In one district an apartment block was damaged; in another, several food warehouses, lorries and cars caught fire. Suspilne correspondents heard explosions in the city after 01:40 as well.
Towards morning an enemy drone hit the yard of another apartment block, damaging windows and balconies and wrecking cars. This time, the regional head said, nobody was killed or injured.
Nikopol district: an 11-year-old boy killed
A day earlier, on 10 October, Russian forces dropped munitions from a drone in the Pokrovske community of the Nikopol district. An 11-year-old boy was killed; a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl were injured and are in hospital, Oleksandr Hanzha said.
The bigger picture
The attack on Dnipro came at the end of a day when the country was mourning the victims of the guided-bomb strike on Zaporizhzhia, where 20 people were killed. Because of strikes on energy facilities, scheduled power cuts apply in some regions on 11 October, Suspilne reports.
The Dnipropetrovsk region remains one of the most frequently attacked by drones: the Nikopol area is shelled daily because of its proximity to the front line, and Dnipro itself is regularly hit by drones and missiles. Local authorities urge residents not to ignore air-raid alerts and to use shelters.
